East-Side Educational Trust

email me Background

East-Side Educational Trust is a registered children’s and young people’s charity, which was established in 1994, and whose mission is to encourage and empower children and young people from underprivileged backgrounds to realise their potential and to raise their aspirations, levels of achievement and self esteem through the use of creative arts and drama. Each and every one of our projects – after-school clubs; in-school projects; summer schools and master classes – are designed to meet the specific needs and requirements of the participating children and the communities in which they are organised.

East-Side recognises the importance of enabling young people to have direct access to professional artists, and our workshops are all delivered by influential arts practitioners; including performers, dancers, singers, writers, comedians, directors, visual artists and choreographers, all of whom have a genuine interest in and commitment to working with children and young people. In addition, East-Side always aims to reflect the areas in which we work by actively recruiting children from a wide variety of ethnic, religious and social backgrounds and children who have a wide range of educational and emotional needs.
