Children
visit Lords
|
- Children from Seven Mills finished their
year of cricket coaching in style with a visit to the hallowed
turf of Lords. As part of
the Capital Kids Cricket programme the children were part of a
group of inner London school children to be involved in activities
on the ground. The four-hour programme involved pupils, rotating
between the eight stations around the ground, being taught by leading
coaches, tours to the Nat-West Media Centre and the famous ‘Long
Room’.
- The highlights of the day included fast
bowling; recording children’s
with speed and other batting and fielding competitions. For
many of the children it was their first opportunity to explore
the
ground and hopefully this will encourage more children to
take up the game of cricket regularly.
