The teaching resources not only contribute to a comprehnsive KS3 PSHE programme, they are also designed to train young KS3 health mentors in your school, by providing training to support the issues the play raises. Bigfoot's New Programmes....... 5/3/2009

Big Steps

Bigfoot’s new transition programmes…

Hello!

We’re writing to let you know about our exciting transition programmes that we will be delivering in the summer term!

Preparing for and managing transition can often be a challenging experience: What might it be like? How will I make new friends? Will I be able to cope with the change? Join Bigfoot to explore and, above all, enjoy the transition creatively in an inclusive, safe, friendly and fun environment!

To celebrate Big Step’s sixth successful year, Bigfoot are proud to launch two new and exciting performance based programmes for both Primary and Secondary schools!   The programmes have been designed support students in times of change, allowing pupils to confront, discuss, challenge and explore the emotional, psychological and practical implications involved with ‘moving on’ in a safe and friendly environment.

Big Steps; Performance Workshop

Students will be invited to watch a short interactive performance piece with their class, throughout which various aspects of transition, from the point of view of the child, are openly discussed. Participants are then encouraged to take part in a variety of creative games, exercises and role-plays which further explore anxieties and worries they feel, as well as solutions to problems they may encounter, when changing schools.

The Big Step; Performance

Students will be invited to attend an inspiring new performance piece which delves into the lives and minds of two students as they make the big step from Primary to Secondary school. Providing a humorous insight into the various concerns associated with moving on, as well asa variety of strategies to cope with it, The Big Step presents the perfect opportunity to celebrate new beginnings in a positive and enjoyable way.
